ROYAL ARTILLERY  OUTBREAK of WW1 COMMEMORATION SERVICE

Worcester Branch W.F.R.A. was kindly invited to join the Mayor of Worcester and 214 Btty R.A. at Dancox House for

a service to commemorate the outbreak of World War One. The service included a speech on the Declaration of War and

the mention of the 'lights going out' speech from Lord Grey in 1914. The Last Post was played at 11 pm, followed by

the firing of a rifle volley, 2 miutes silence, another volley of shots, Reveillle, and the Kohima epitaph from Maurice Smith.

Afterwards the Worcester Branch Members joind the R.A. in the bar for drinks.
