WORCESTER ARTILLERY DAY
THE 150th ANNIVERSARY OF 214 (WORCESTERSHIRE) BATTERY ROYAL ARTILLERY
16TH AUGUST 2014
The day started with a service at Worcester Cathedral. The Parade consisted of The Colonel leading in vehicle, followed by the Artillery Band, 214 Battery gunners, the Cadets and Veterans. Vehicles and guns from the WW1 and WW2 era followed the marching column onto the Picthcroft Racecourse Arena .
Veterans were treated to a lunch in the Grandstand. There were WW1 displays, Welsh Horse Team and Many more things military for people to see. Also parachuting by the RAF Falcons Display Team.
In the evening, dignitaries were treated to a 'Beating the Retreat' with music by Tchaikovsky`s 1812 overture with artillery guns firing.
