DONATION 26TH NOVEMBER 2014
Today at the Worcestershire Regimental Stone in Gheluvelt Park, Worcester, two cheques were handed to the Worcester Branch WFRA to be donated to SSAFA and the Mercian Regiment Benevolent Fund. This is being done in memory of Malcolm 'Casey' Hill of Netherton who served in the Worcestershire Regiment. Casey was a much liked regular in the pubs of Netherton and after Casey had passed away a message was passed to Gerald 'Nobby' Clarke to pass on the news to members of the Association asking them to attend his funeral. A very good turn out was assured with Association Branch Standards present. Impressed with the turn out, family and friends of the Bulls Head pub in Netherton had a collection and raised the sum of £200. A further cheque of a £100. was donated from Casey`s will.
Presenting the cheques today was close friends of Casey, Ken and Judy Carter of Stourbridge, Ken had known Casey since childhood. The Cheques were handed to Gerald 'Nobby' Clarke, in return he presented ken and Judy with a framed print of badges of the Worcestershire Regiment.
