MESSAGE FROM  ANDY WILLIAMS   25TH FEB 2015

Hello Dickie and all my fellow Mercians,  This is Andrew P Williams for across the pond in PA US of A.              Many thanks for sending the parcel.
My youngest son is proudly wearing his Mercian ball cap. The Mercian Plaque hangs proudly on the wall. The
reversible jacket is getting a workout in this cold weather. My blazer looks spiffy with its new badge. Lots of Boy Scouts asking for one!
Hope you are all doing well over there. Always thinking of you and the great times we had, both legal and
illegal. The less said the better!
Exercise Polar Dawn would seem like a spring day just now. Temps down into minus 20 through 35. May have
another 10 days before we get back up into the low 40's for the time of year. We are the lucky ones as other folks are up to their necks in snow with 6/7/8 feet of snow.
Teaching Hill Billies to shoot properly. Oh Boy let me tell you the wild west is alive and well in these here
hills! Arthur would be turning somersaults on these ranges. American army cannot shoot for ####. Shock and awe is their motto, Now I know why!
Saying that there are a few that can shoot the eye off a fly at 1000 yards. I have lost a few dollars
competing against them. I am good out to 750 thereafter I am getting blind. Still I hold my own for an old man.
Take care one and all, look forward to hearing more from you on due course.
 Yours         Andrew
 Andrew P Williams
B Coy. 1 Mercian Volunteers.

Hi
I recently visited 'The Somme' where I found a stone dedicated to an un-named soldier of the
Worcester Regiment, I laid a small wreath on behalf of 1 & 2 Mercian Volunteers & (Worcesters & Foresters) on the grave.
